The Morning of VBS Down Under
Posted by: | CommentsG’Day Mates,
It is the morning of VBS 2009…we have prayed and workhard for this day to come. Now the journey across the great outback begins as we learn of the Great Barrier Reef, Syndney, Ayers Rock and much more!!! We will learn that it all comes back to Jesus in life…our eternal salvation and our very existence are dependent upon Him and Him alone…to Him be all Glory and Praise!
It is an exciting year. In 2007 we were ranked in the top 100 VBS in the nation…still something that blows my mind. Our 2008 VBS was even bigger…we had over 200 kids and over 350 for family night. Now it is 2009…I don’t know what will happen…I would love to see more kids saved at this years VBS than ever before. As of this morning we have 111 kids preregistered online (more than ever before) and we have 31 volunteers pre-registered. Thanks to all who pre-registered…you have a ticket waiting on you at registeration for boomerang express…all aboard.
Special thanks to Mary Regan for spearheading this years adventure and a big thanks to all who have sacrificed time and give a valiant effort to see this years VBS bring glory to God and excitement to all!!!!!
Proud to Be an American
Posted by: | CommentsThe 4th of July is known as Independence Day in America. It is a day in which our nation dawns itself in Red, White, and Blue apparel and waves “Old Glory” high in the sky for all to see. It is a day in which we attend parades, hear political speeches, have BBQ’s, picnics and concerts, and then cap the day off with fireworks. On this day you can hear the voices of many singing songs like “The Star-Spangled Banner”, “God Bless America”, “America the Beautiful”, “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee”, and “This Land Is Your Land. You will even hear people in one voice calling on God to continue to bless America. In its truest since it makes all of us proud to be an American.
July 4, 1776 marks the date of the first of two sacred national documents in America; the Declaration and the Constitution. The Declaration of Independence was a statement in time about freedom that still rings true today. The signers of the Declaration risked their very lives to advance the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that are granted to us by our Creator. They stood against the sovereign King of England calling him a tyrant because they believed the sovereignty of no man or nation trumps the sovereignty of God to rule the hearts and minds of mankind…even this nation. We owe a lot to the forefathers of this great nation who called tyranny evil and believed that freedom must prevail by the hand of God for all people. May we be mindful of their sacrifice and declaration for all generations.
As people of God and as we the people of the United States of America we must realize that these truths are still self-evident. We are endowed by our Creator with the inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. As we celebrate our independence from the tyranny we once faced in our history, may we also stand up against all forms of tyranny in this land and across the globe, and may we most importantly declare our dependence upon the Creator God who gives us these rights that no man or government has the right to take from us.
Happy 4th of July and God Bless America!
