Greetings Family of God.
May we remember to be thankful this Thanksgiving. We need to have an attitude of gratitude at all times. I realize it is not always easy and at times there are some legitimate issues to bring us down. But for the most part we need to rejoice and be filled with joy…but we need to always be THANKFUL.
Here is my top 10 things to be Thankful about this Thanksgiving:
1. My wife – I am so blessed. I don’t deserve someone like Shawnetta. She is the love of my life…I cannot imagine life without her.
2. My Children – I love my three red heads. They bring me fulfillment and joy. They are great kids…I guess this time the apple fell far from the tree
3. My Church – Broadman you guys are the best. I love you and have been blessed by you…THANK YOU!!!!
4. My family – my parents, sisters, and immediate family have always been a part of my life. I have many fond memories of family events that I will treasure forever.
5. My health – something that can be gone in a moment, we must treasure it while we have it…I am grateful.
6. My freedom – Freedom isn’t free and I will never forget Christ who gave me freedom and all those who have fought for Freedom’s cause.
7. My Education – to have the ability to learn and gain knowledge is something many never have the opportunity to receive. I am grateful to have been given many opportunities to better myself.
8. My Home – having shelter and a warm house is such a blessing.
9. My Nation – being an American still brings me great honor. This is the greatest nation on God’s earth. I am glad I was able to serve for 14 years in the Armed Forces.
10. My God – The last shall be first…GOD IS #1. He is the best. God is good all the time and I will never forget to praise Him. THANK YOU GOD FOR BEING YOU!!!
May all of you have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING….we have much to be thankful about!!!
This is as real as it gets. We are in an economic crisis as a nation. Why? Because we are not living by God’s standards…I am not speaking morally right now, but economically. We are a debt oriented society…in other words we accept debt as an acceptable way of life. We are not a society that actually expects companies or households, let alone the government to practice financial responsibility or to have financial accountability. We are so use to living in a debt driven society that we have forgotten to live within our means…it is so ironic that this year department stores are bringing back a concept called “Lay aways.” This is something foreign to the generation born in the 90′s and beyond…in fact my kids has to ask “What is that?” Look out we may actually have to save up to buy something we want in the future…what a novel idea…or should I say Biblical idea. What we need is a dose of Biblical Economics.
Below is the email I sent to my Congressmen and woman:
I oppose the $25 billion in emergency loans to the auto industry. I opposed the 700 billion bail out plan as well. You are my leaders, you represent me and you represent the good of the people….this is not good for the people. We cannot bail ourselves out of this…we are going about this the wrong way. We are pouring money into a sinking ship hoping it will stay a float…but like the Titanic it is sinking and the money only slows it down a while. But it will still go down.
We simply cannot afford to continue to bail companies out. We need to change how we operate. Government is not the solution, the people are….actually God is. However, the government does need to have some level of oversight to ensure economic creation takes place, not spreading the wealth through government programs or monopolizing the wealth or to be wasteful with our wealth…the bailout is wasteful and irresponsible plan…an ungodly plan that in the long haul in not good for our nation.
We have to start living within our means as a nation and as a people…let the companies file bankruptcy and reorganize….accountability, reorganization and responsibility are a good thing. It may not be what we want to hear, but we have to face reality. I realize that this may be a difficult process and tough decisions will have to be made…unfortunately there are consequences of our decisions and lifestyle. We have to deal with this as a nation, stop whining, and stop bowing a knee to the good of money and an I want it all right now mentality. This is the generation that needs to face the problem and solve it, not pass it on to the next generation. We are only putting a band aide on a gaping, oozing wound.
Do the right thing – no bail out plan of corporations including the auto industry. Save America by bringing back the American Dream which is if we pull togther and if we work hard we can make a good life for ourselves. A good, strong work ethic needs to be restored in our nation…we need the real American Dream back…one that you actually have to work hard for, not to have it handed down to you or one that requires the government to take my hard earned money and give it to someone else.
Perhaps if we return to God some of this may turn for the good! Although watching our politicians right now does not give me much hope.

Hey everyone I just wanted to tell you about an awesome movie Shawnetta and I just watched called the “THE NOTE.” It is a must see by all.
The movie is about a tragic plane crash and a note that one of the passengers wrote to a loved one. It just so happens that a newpaper reporter finds the letter washed up on shore and she decides to do some articles about the letter and attempts to find out who the letter was written to and then wants deliver it to that person. There are so many moving movements in the moving. There are trials, love, anger, pain, hurt, and even tears…but there is also joy and hope. The movie does a wonderful job of relating to life. It is real and touches the heart.
I hope you will experience the true life lessons in this movie. The power of forgiveness, hope, love and so much more. You will take a walk on redemption’s path as you see the journey of “The Note” unfold even in your own life.
Be blessed,
PC
