SICK

Posted by: Pastor Chris | Comments (0)

Well have you ever had one of those days? When everyone is sick! I just did! Yuck! It started with the little one and then mama and then the other two kids. I am not sure how I got through it without getting it too!

Anyway…it just made me think. When we get sick with something like the stomach flu how helpless we are. Our body aches, we try to rest but cannot really rest, we dry heave, we are simply miserable. We can all relate!

Shouldn’t sin have the same effect? Shouldn’t we realize how sick we are? And shouldn’t we realize that their is only one cure for our sickness…JESUS! THe blood of our Savior is the cure…it is our atonement. And if we have Jesus as our Savior should sin still cause us to want to vomit? In Revelation, Jesus told one of the seven churches that you are neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm and therefore I will vomit you out of my mouth. God wants us focused on Him. We are all sick and need of the Great Physician.

I hope we will all take our spiritual condition serious and embrace Jesus as the cure. If you don’t know Jesus as Lord and Savior what are you waiting for? He can save you from an eternal death seperated from Him! He can give you His peace now and for all of eternity. His forgivness and love is real…He care for you!

And if you are a Chrisitan struggling with life and the sickness of sin has invaded you life once more. God has the ability to clean house! Return to Him and call on His name!

God Bless

Vacation

Posted by: Pastor Chris | Comments (0)

Hey everyone. I just got back from a vacation that took me from the mountains of WV to Lake Erie of Ohio. It was awesome waking up seeing the mountains surround you as well as it was nice to see the waves of Lake Erie. God is so diverse and has created such a beautiful earth. I can only imagine how beautiful the New Earth will be when all things are made right and the effects of sin will not be present.

We had several events that turned us to God besides the beautiful landscape. Traveling to WV we passed a man lying on the side of the road. It is always a risk stopping to help someone in the day and time in which we live. But we stopped. We thought the man might be dead. We said a short prayer. I got out and started running back toward him and called 911. By the time I got to him and volunteer fire fighter showed up. The man was barely alive. When I got back int he car we prayed for him and went on.

We also had a time with illnesses. It seems like every vacation someone gets sick. This time it was a little more serious. Samuel actually got Pneumonia. We had to stay the night at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins WV. It turned out to be a good time for Samuel and I. We spent some quality time with each other. It was also a time of trusting God with Samuel’s situation.

We finally made it back home…and you know what? It is good to be home! I feel like Dorothy taping her red shoes…there is no place like home. It also makes me realize that we should feel that same way about Heaven…which will be our final and enless vacation with God someday. What a vacation that will be!!!!!
